The Vocal Concerto: Hidden Masterpieces of 17th-century Germany
Legendary vocalist Harry van der Kamp joins long-time colleagues violin virtuoso Monica Huggett and lutenist Stephen Stubbs, leading a nine-member ensemble in a captivating program of rarely heard masterpieces from 17th-century Germany. Renowned for his interpretations of cantatas for solo bass, Van der Kamp brings his dynamic range and the agile expressiveness demanded by the cantatas of Buxtehude, Johann Christoph Bach, Scheidt, and others. Instrumental works will showcase the nimble virtuosity of violin legend Huggett and others in this superstar chamber ensemble.
